Thousands of people took to the streets of Taiwan&#8217;s capital Saturday to protest the planned trade agreement with China.</p>
<p>The demonstration in Taipei was organized by Progressive Democrats of the pro-independence, which says that trade agreements would undermine self-government and economy of the island.</p>
<p>The demonstration was conducted at Taiwan envoy Chiang Pin-kung will travel to China for economic cooperation agreement was signed Tuesday.</p>
<p>The government of President Ma Ying-jeou in a friendly with Beijing that has pushed it reached an agreement, saying the deal would boost growth and increase employment.</p>
<p>Opponents say the treaty will strengthen China&#8217;s influence over the island, which marks the first step toward unification.</p>
<p>Beijing regards Taiwan as a rebel province that must be reunited with mainland China, with military force, if necessary.</p>

Improvement in corporate earnings expectations in the second quarter of this year encouraged the strengthening of regional exchanges.</p>
<p>Stock exchanges in Shanghai,  China, had dropped to a level of 2356.55, which is the lowest level since April last year, before closing at 2409.42 positions, or 1.9 percent higher.</p>
<p>Shares of pharmaceutical sector, consumption, and strengthening the banking trigger. Double Crane Pharmaceutical shares rose 3.9 percent, up 4.59 percent of Tsingtao Brewery, China Citic Bank increased 3.86 percent, and China Construction Bank climbed 2.92 percent.<span id="more-94"></span></p>
